WA Breakfast Training Session
November 14 @ 7:30 am - 9:00 am| $30 – $35
AICLA WA Division Breakfast Training Session
We have secured Les Vogiatzakis from DGas Services who will be presenting on:
- What defines Hazardous Substances and Dangerous Goods
- Where we stand now in WA with current regulation
- The implications of regulatory reform going forward
- What are some common misconceptions with WHS laws.
Les’s experience in occupational health & safety started in 1995 while posted in Mt Magnet as a secondary science teacher. He has then started OH&S post graduate studies in 1997-1998 at Curtin University which were completed to move away from the education profession.
Les then worked with the competent authority for the ‘Mines Department’ as an explosives and dangerous goods regulator, then quickly moved into major hazards. As a regulator, Les was jointly accountable for verification of risk mitigation and control, and process and public safety management of the top 78 chemical manufacturing, storage and handling facilities in Western Australia, not to mention investigations and incident management to support the fire brigade.
He was subsequently employed by Coogee Chemicals, and then moved to offshore energy and manufacturing with Matrix Composites and Engineering. Les also worked as a safety consultant, and a chemical safety and dangerous goods specialist since 2004. He is an alumnus from both Edith Cowan University, and Curtin University and is also very good at environmental rehabilitation and people rehabilitation.
The presentation should be of interest to our Members, Claims Handlers, Underwriters & Brokers. Members are also encouraged to bring Industry guests who would find the training session interesting and informative.
The seminar will include a full breakfast
Usual parking and dress requirements apply.
