SUMMARY:General Average Webinar
DESCRIPTION:You are invited to join us for an online education seminar via Microsoft Teams\, organised by the NSW Division. \nEver wondered what happens when a large vessel is in trouble and requires rescue and salvage operations? Who organises it? Who pays? And why? Welcome to the world of General Average. \nNaraya Lamart and Joseph Nicholls from Wotton + Kearney will explore declarations of General Average in the world of marine casualties. \nThe presentation will include a brief overview of the legal framework that governs shipowners and cargo interests’ obligations when a general average is declared\, before diving into what happens on the ground during a general average incident. \nWe will review case studies of some recent events including the Evergiven/Suez Canal and the catastrophic MV Dail/Baltimore Bridge incidents. \nThere is no cost to join the webinar\, to be held at 12pm Sydney time on 27 March. \nRegister below to secure your spot! \nAICLA CPD: 1 Point
