SUMMARY:AICLA WA Division – Sundowner Event
DESCRIPTION:The AICLA WA Division will be hosting a Sundowner Event with guest speaker John O’Halloran. \nJohn was a country boy from Tamworth\, NSW who was called up for national service not long after the start of the Vietnam War. As a tough and determined 21 year old he guided 6 RAR B Company 5 Platoon through some of the biggest conflicts of the war including Operation Hobart\, Battle of Long Tan and Operation Bribie where he led a fixed bayonet charge against a deadly Viet Cong jungle strong hold. \nJohn has recently had a book published titled The Platoon Commander. The book is about John’s experiences in the Vietnam War where he led Australia’s most decorated Platoon. \n \n  \nAfter leaving the army John became involved in one of the most successful loss adjusting practices in Perth\, WA Assessing from the 1980’s through to the mid /late 1990’s which later included a managing role with Midcity Group. Many people learned skills\, values and experiences working with John in the profession in an era which is vastly different to what we experience today. John will have varied stories about situations\, claimants and people on claims or whom he employed. We are fortunate John has agreed to speak about these aspects of his life which mean so much to him and forged who he is. \nAfter John has spoken it will be time to catch up with colleagues over finger food and drinks for a couple of hours in the lovely setting of the Royal Perth Golf Club. \nThis is truly an event not to be missed with the opportunity to meet and listen to a person regarded by his peers as a national treasure. \n  \nThanks to our Sponsors !  \n  \n \n  \n \n  \n \n
