The Prosecution and Defence of Fire Damage Loss

From the viewpoint of engineers acting on behalf of both parties

Two engineers from ATTAR will present on a hypothetical fire scenario in a leased commercial premises with the fire starting in plant and equipment. The fire has spread causing significant damage to contents, plant and equipment as well as the building. There is talk of potential recovery and the two gentlemen will present on what to look for on prosecuting the potential recovery if acting for the landlord’s insurer and how the matter could be defended acting on behalf of the tenant’s insurer. It should be a most informative session as we have all at some point referenced potential recovery in this type of scenario.

Presented by:

Dr Adrian Grosvenor, General Manager of Engineering Consulting and Principal Engineer at ATTAR. Adrian is a materials engineer who has spent close to 15 years performing forensic investigations to establish root cause investigations across a variety of different industries and asset types in both Australia and Germany.

Nicholas Jenkins, graduate mechatronics engineer at ATTAR. Nicholas focuses on forensic investigations of fire related electrical items and components and has looked at a number if Lithium-Ion battery fires.

The presentation should be of interest to our Members, Claims Handlers, Underwriters & Brokers. Members are also encouraged to bring industry guests who would find the training session interesting and informative.
